Tears Of JoyConnections
Community support · Kenya

Hard seasons end better when someone shows up. We make the connection.

Tears Of Joy Connections links families and individuals going through hardship with neighbours, volunteers and partners who can help them stand again.

Every request is visited and verified before it is shared with givers.

What one connection can look like

Tears come in the hard moments. We work for the day they come from joy.

Many people in our communities are one emergency away from losing school, health or a home. Help often exists close by, but the person in need and the person who can help never meet.

We close that gap. We listen, confirm what is needed, and connect each need to someone able to meet it. Then we stay until the need is resolved.

How it works

How a connection happens

Each request follows the same four steps, so givers know their support reaches a real, confirmed need.

  1. A need is shared

A family, a friend, a church or a teacher tells us about someone going through a hard time.

  2. We visit and verify

A volunteer meets the family, understands the situation and confirms what will make the biggest difference.

  3. We connect

The need is matched with a giver, a skilled volunteer or a partner organisation, and support goes straight to the cost.

  4. We follow up

We check back, share an update with the giver and stay involved until the family is back on its feet.

Our work

Where we focus

We respond to the needs that most often push families into crisis.

Education

School fees, uniforms, books and exam costs, so a child stays in class when money runs out at home. We also pair students with mentors who check on their progress each term.

Health

Help with hospital bills, medicine and transport to treatment, plus visits to patients who have no one beside them.

Food and essentials

Food packs, rent support and household basics for families in a sudden crisis such as job loss, illness or bereavement.

Widows and the elderly

Regular visits, companionship and practical help for older people and widows who are caring for others or living alone.

Youth skills

Mentorship, short skills training and introductions to employers, so young people can earn and support their families.

Give support

Your gift becomes someone's turning point

Give once or every month. Gifts go to verified needs in our current cases, and you receive an update on what your support made possible.
